Paste a list of names, choose how many teams you need and get fair, evenly sized random teams in one click.
Picking teams by hand is slow and can feel personal — someone is always chosen last. The Random Team Generator shuffles your list and deals names into teams like cards, so teams are random, fair and as even in size as possible. Team sizes never differ by more than one person.
Use this page when you know how many teams you need (for example, 3 teams for a relay). If you know how many people should be in each group (for example, pairs or groups of 4), the Random Group Maker is set up for that. Both use the same fair shuffling.
Random teams are fair, but you can tweak the result: generate once, then press the button again if two very strong players land together — everyone can see the process is still random. For classroom groups, combine with the Random Student Picker to choose a team captain.
As even as possible. If the names do not divide exactly, some teams get one extra person, but sizes never differ by more than one.
Tick “Give teams fun names” for random colorful names. Otherwise teams are numbered Team 1, Team 2 and so on.
Hundreds. Paste as many names as you like and choose up to 100 teams.
Yes. Use “Copy” to paste the teams anywhere, or “Print” for a clean printout.
